The Blackberry Bold 9700 is free on a Vodafone $79 cap plan on a 24 month contract. Pay nothing for the handset up front and get $550 included value each month plus 1GB of data or Unlimited BlackBerry email and Internet.

The Blackberry Bold 9700, released late last year, capitalises on all the main strengths of the Blackberry smartphones with some subtle improvements. It’s smaller than the Bold 9000 and with this more compact design comes a slightly smaller screen and keyboard. The screen display quality is excellent with 480×360 resolution and a higher pixel count than previous models.

It’s the first Blackberry smartphone to feature HSDPA speeds with 3.6Mbps downloads. It also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The design is excellent with a new stainless steel edge around the handset.

Overall the performance is excellent and the Bold 9700 is one of the best smartphones around.
