Cheap, Ultra-Portable Notebooks
There are some great buys in small, cheap laptops at the moment. Competition between vendors means fantastic quality at very affordable prices. If you need something to access the Internet while on the move, don’t want to lug around a full size, fully featured laptop but don’t want to sacrifice too much in terms of usability and productivity then one of the ultra-portable notebooks could be the best solution. We’ve researched what’s available and selected three of the best ultra portable notebooks.
Asus Eee PC 901 – The good points are the long battery life (up to 8 hours), the stability and reliability due to the shockproof Solid State Drive (SSD) design and the 8.9 inch screen. On the minus side, the keyboard is smaller and harder to use than the others and it has a smaller 12GB hard drive.
MSI Wind – Stylish with a great big-size keyboard that is easy to use and a 10” wide screen display. It has a large 80GB hard drive and average battery life.
Dell Inspiron Mini 9 – Customisable, well designed, easy to use with great reviews. Classy offering from Dell
Acer Aspire One – Very easy to use with a great keyboard that is 95% of a full size one. Good all round performer and stylish. The main downside is the poorer battery life, up to 3 hours.
