What do the technical terms mean?
The terminology to describe mobile broadband networks can be a bit confusing but as far as the consumer is concerned the difference is in the speed of the Internet connection.
3G refers to the third generation of mobile communications. 3G networks can send data up to 10 times faster then 2G networks. It means that you can download and listen to music, watch videos and browse the web at high speeds.
EDGE and GPRS are sometimes referred to as 2.5G. They offer high s[peeds but not as fast as 3G. Edge is faster than GPRS.
HSDPA is known as 3.5G and allows you to download files to your device at a very high speed.
